Falling Waters Retreat at Allegory Gallery with Heather Powers of HumbleBeads...

I'm just tickled with our latest news!  We've been talking with Heather Powers of HumbleBeads for awhile now about coming out to Ligonier.  Things finally aligned and we were able to coax her from her home in Michigan to come to Southwestern Pennsylvania!  Hurray!

Author, artist, and beadmaker extraordinaire, Heather Powers, will be coming to our neck of the woods to conduct a two-day workshop on September 19th and 20th!  We'll also have an optional field trip to Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater House on September 18th!  And on the evening of September 19th, we'll have an artist reception for Heather and her work on the Project Wall at Allegory Gallery.  She'll also be doing a book signing and a trunk show with all sorts of goodies she's made!

The waterfall-inspired workshop will feature several different techniques!  Heather will be showing how to work with polymer clay and wire.  She'll also be showing how to work with metal and how to texture it with a technique that looks like etching without the harmful chemicals!  The weekend is jam-packed full of creativity!

Heather has been making beads and jewelry for awhile now and has years of hands-on experience.  She is the author of Jewelry Designs from Nature and has two more books coming out!  Heather contributes to books, magazines, and popular online publications.  She even organizes an annual jewelry making themed cruise and hosts workshops around the country!
