The Time It Takes...

I wrote earlier about transitions and about honoring my spirit.  The ball is rolling.  It may be rolling slowly, but at least it is rolling.  Right now I am focusing a lot of attention on streamlining my day job so that I can pursue my artistic endeavors more freely.  It hasn't been easy.  Many of the plans being made are contingent on others and will require patience on my end.  But I am hopeful.

Hi Andrew!

What about carrying a sketchbook? I know you say you used to or its too heavey - so get a small moleskine! I know that sounds obvious, but I find that I can sketch or jot down thoughts if its right in my pocket, then, its surprising how much gets done at the end of the day. I feel disconnected without it, like they are part of me.

Andrew,
I am glad to hear you are hopeful right now. Sometimes that is the biggest thing, being aware of the need to pursue your art and creativity. There is so much to get in the way of it, and i have found I need to be really mindful of it in order to keep the ball rolling...

Hey Cynthia! It's funny you should mention that! I got a free sketchbook at one of the events that I recently worked and have been carrying it around. It has been so helpful in mapping out my thoughts.

Hey Melanie! It's good to hear from you. Right now it's a struggle to really devote myself to my art and creativity. Nowadays it seems like the demands of my day job are taking over and I'm just totally exhausted by the hours that I pull.

But as I said in the post, I am hopeful. Already the ball is in motion and although it's a bit like Sisyphus pushing a boulder up a hill for all of eternity, in my case, eventually I will have achieved something. At least that's the goal.

But I agree... the first step is knowing what the issue is and knowing what needs to happen to make things work!
