The Golden Age...

Let me first say that I loved the movie, Elizabeth. I am a sucker for period films and even more so about strong women. Cate Blanchett (another actress I have a crush on) reprises her role as the woman warrior queen of England in Elizabeth: The Golden Age. I saw the preview for it while waiting for Stardust to start up and it looks good!

I loved "Elizabeth" but as a history buff was annoyed at some of the license taken with the "facts". But, I am going to see the sequel - it sounds good.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've forgotten a lot since the last time I studied European History and forgiven anything that I happened to remember in the interest of artistic liberties.

But I can't wait for the new one to come out. Perhaps I just like Cate Blanchett in roles like these?

I love period films too. The costuming always gets me and I love to feel like I am taking a peek in on how people lived.

When we saw Stardust at the theater, there were some really cool trailers for upcoming movies. I can't remember them all, there were about 10 of them! But all seemed to have a fantasy or history theme. The Golden Compass looked particularly promising! Beowulf on the other hand, not so much..it looked really CGI and creepy.
